“Great opportunity to run on this course, to challenge yourself on a circuit that was constructed for racing cars. Extremely tough for a 10km race but unique in Dubai. Thanks to Graham, Katrina, and their team for producing another great event. ”
“Really enjoyed the Autodrome 10k, would definitely take part again. Only small complaint was the start was very sudden, with no prior warning as we ambled to the start-line. Otherwise, the event was well organised, the route enjoyable and the post-race breakfast much appreciated!”
“Gets better every year. Only two comments. Uses overall race timing with pads only at the end so you need to be near the front at the start. Second maybe just drop the t shirts as nice souvenir but poor auality”
“The start was disappointing with no start mat and I couldn't hear the start signal ao i was left still getting myself organised when everyone began and wasted a good few seconds. No note of net time due to no start mat. Strarting those 10 mins or so late really did make a difference to the temperature. Consider please starting at 6.30 next year and being more strict with the latecomers. Marshalls around the course were great, very encouraging. The finish was a bit crazy - I didnt get a t-shirt as there were none there and this was at 56 mins so not right at the end. ”
“fantastic, great job to all”
“Nicely run event with a good friendly relaxed atmosphere. But in my experience people participate in 10k races not to beat other people but to do a good personal time - but in this higher temperature and with the hilly track, times are going to be 5-10% slower than the Dubai Marathon 10k. No idea whether you have the chance to change to a flat course in future but I think it should be considered, possibly also a 6.30 AM start time.”
“Giving the location, I think that 7am is way too early. Many of my friends registered and didnt end up going as it was too early, too far, too hard. Should have a starting pad, as I was at the back of the queue for starting and it detracted from my time. Also my GPS watch showed the course was actually 250m longer than 10km. ”
“Love the food afterwards, start could hasve been a bit better organised, but not a problem.”
“The run started late, Breakfast was amazing.”
“This was my first 10k at the Autodrome and I wish I would have heeded the early warning that there would be hills - I was woefully unprepared! But you stationed encouraging folks at strategic points along the track and they were a massive help. Thank you for not laughing at me as I huffed and puffed along! My only real criticism would be signage getting to the track. I'm not familiar with the Autodrome, so Thursday night I drove all over Motor City looking for the number pick up. I'm glad I did it, though, because otherwise I would have missed the race on Friday. I only found the right entry point after stopping at the Kartdrome and getting some vague directions - I also happened to find a map of the area in the parking lot. Once you know that you need to turn right at the first traffic light the rest is easy. Oh, one more thing. At one stage the announcer said that the youth run would have a 10 minute delay, which would mean a 15 minute delay for the adults. I ran up to use the bathroom and I know I was quick. By the time I got back to the track the kids were gone and before I knew it the adults started running themselves. There's no way 15 minutes came and went that quickly. I was there in time, but I was just a bit surprised at the speedy clock in the announcer's office. All in all, thanks for the opportunity to see what I'm made of. Obviously I have some weak areas (hills!) but will definitely be back to try again next year.”
“Weather was v. hot!! A slightly earlier start might have been better.”
“The start caught a lot of people out however that can be addressed and well done to Graham, Catriona and all the volunteers. These events do not happen with out a huge amount of effort from a few people. A good course and always fun to see the faces of those that think the autodrome is flat. I did first time out, but now I know :-)”
“Overall, a good event. Great to have all that hospitality space pre and post race. Start not clear and why no start mat? I am not a fast runner so normally start at the back of the field so I do not have a true idea of my time. Many events now are providing proper running shirts or vests. This would be more appreciated than the t shirts which cannot be used for running due to the material. But thanks to all the organisers and volunteers for making it a sucessful day.”
“suggest a less lavish breakfast and put some of the saving into changing the T shirt fabric and make it brighter or give shorts with logoes instead of shirts? A big thanks to all those in the support teams and Mrs and Mr. Rafferty!”
“Very warm reception and organized event i love the set up from start to finish til presentation of awards. Another year of success.”
“It was a well organised event however there were no spectators to cheer apart from the start and finish points. Also I would appreciate if you have volunteers to put the medals on the finishers neck rather than just handing it over to them. I appreciate everyone who participated and applaud those who finished. For me even the last person is a winner in his own right. ”
“Good well organised race, not the fastest but good all the same. Nice to see a healthy number of spectors which always seem to be missing from UAE races.”
“Matbe it could have started a little earlier as at 7.10 the temperature was already climbing. The start was a little chaotic I didn't hear any official start and so didn't have my timing / iPod etc sorted out and suddenly everyone was off! At the finish it would have been nice to get my t shirt with my medal. I couldn't see where the t shirts were so I just left without one.”
“Excellently organised. The course was interesting and it was great to participate with so many other runners. Thank you road Runners.”
“Actually the organizers of this event are very good, but it needs publication, because some of the runners wish to join but they dont't know this event. This spectacular events it needs to publicise to the Radio and to the news paper in order to make more fun..”
“fab event, very well organised, best I have been too. Great atmosphere, food station well set out (several spotted around to ease any queues). Good course to run . ”
“keep up the good work”
“i wish to request that next time at least there should be some prize money for the winners however small it may, they put in alot to train to run up to that level. this money also helps them prepare for the coming events on the calender. thanks”
“Thanks for a great race, but distance marks needed to be more clear. Also not enough t-shirts for everyone even the kids. The volunteers were great, thanks to you all. Breakfast was great too. Enjoyed the race and looking forward to the next one. Great job everyone.”
“especially hospitality was great and other arrangement as well.”
“Thanks Graham and Katrina for your hard work organising this great event.”
“I couldn't see most of the km markers. I forgot my watch and was amazed that the only clock at all was at the finish line. Most of the competitors were surprised when the start gun went, apparently there was someone giving a count down but very few competitors heard it. Finally at the end of the race there were a number of spectators who helped themselves to t-shirts and medals which was sad to see. Even for al that though I'll probably run again as the autodrome race track is such an unusual event with all that steep banking and the heat was ferocious today. ”
“Thanks, Graham! Fun race & nice breakfast!”
“great experience and would go for it again for sure. T-shirt quality and starting and finsh organisation are sure ares for improvement”
“Good fun and well organised. I like this year's anti-clockwise course, the hills seem less of a promlem this way round. The breakfast arrangements were excellent. Many thanks to Graham and the team.”
“Why did we get the t shirt after the race? slow runners did not get the size they needed. Togh corses at the time but good feel after the event.”
“Felt it was expensive. Water points should offer cold water by keeping the cups in ice water before the race. Breakfast afterwards good idea. Did the race start on time? Overall good race, would like to do it again, thank you.”
“Well organised and fun. Well done and thanks to everyone who hepled put the event together. Thank you.”
“I registed in early February but got an email this week saying (Sorry if your preference of T Shirt size has been taken by a faster runner). I dident get a t shirt at all, maybe if we had not waited an extra 10 minutes for those that dident make it on time I would have got one. Felt a little cheated as there were people who were waiting near the finish line for people running in Teams or Groups who clearly had more than there t shirt in there hand waiting to give them to there runners who were finishing after me. ”
“Good organisation, great marshals, good and fast timing, very good after race breakfast. The course is not very interesting but at least there are no cars to worry about. The inclines are long and sapping but it's good to have course variety in Dubai. All in all a very good event. Well done to everyone involved.”
“The only reason i rated the tshirt/give aways, so poorly was because i didn't get one :( the support from the stations around the track was amazing! They were so positive!!!! Thank you for a good time! ”
“Well done to all the marshalls, you kept us motivatd to keep going, appreciate all the support form you guy Well done to everyone, very organized, from the first moment on arrival at registration, and throughout, breakfast was super, It was my first time to particiapte and thouroughly enjoyed it. ”
