“all was organised good except 1 thing - as we came by bus we had no secure place to leave our belongings as it was no buggage stations in place surprisingly! buggage station is a must on such events with so many participants.”
“I registered for the event when first released but didn't expect a mid afternoon start! The details only came through the day before meaning I couldnt take part -poor.”
“ the organize was incomplete.”
“The starting was very dangerous for small kids and not organized at all. I was expecting a sport event for fun as mentionned in the race name, not to see child fell down in starting, no medals even for small kids under 12 years did a good effort to complete or water at finish line or anything make it a real fun. Also how it can be fair to put in the same category child with professionals runners? I think the event was not organized to make it fun for all”
“I had a wonderful time in this event. Although the giveaways were limited to a Tshirt & drinks. Nice printing on the shirt but quite low quality fabric was used. Hope they could improve on that next time. I wish they provided a finisher's medal for the participants. The timing system was excellent! ”
“The start and finish were very confusing and not well organised. The participants should have been grouped, disabled, men, youthand ladies then fun runners at intervals as the start area was not large enough to allow for a safe start to the race, plus some small children were in front of the serious runners, which was quite dangerous. It would have been good to have been able to see the runners progress on a screen of some sort, rather than the start then 15 plus minutes then the end. The cultural displays were very good though. The end was poor, the runners had no idea what was going on and an 1.5 hour wait was a bit long. ”
“A beautiful day out, well structured, on time event. Shame about the heat. Wonderful multi-cultural representation.”
“Great atmosphere of a festival with traditional dances and heritage village. Oh, an there was free popcorn and candy-floss behind the seating area - a nice touch :) Lovely day overall but with some comments on the race itself... Start line organisation was non-existent with a mix of all types of runners (including children!!!) pushing far into the front only to be overtaken by serious runners during the first 200 metres of the race! Luckily the organisers allowed the wheelchair contestants to start 5 minutes before the runners. The music was playing very loud behind our backs while the announcements were being made, making them hardly audible to the people in the back. 2pm may not be the best time to run in this part of the world but it was meant to be a family event so it couldn't have really been any other way. The track wasn't very inspiring either (there-and-back on a long straight) but then again, the race was organised to celebrate the opening of a new road, so it had to be run on it - of course :) The T-shirt is rather tight around the neck and there were no other freebies included in the race package, but the race was FREE to register (and with great prizes too) so no great expectations were there. Watering station at the halfway mark was well organised and stretched along some 100m with sufficient number of volunteers to serve everyone with a drink. The drink size was just about right and in a handy container too! The toilet facilities lacked soap and tissue... still it was nice to have them organised in the middle of desert :)”
“ Well done ! The use of electronic timing ( the mats) gave the cheats no chance of joining the racre half way the course ! The distance ( 5 km) was ideal as was the weather. ”
“ More shade for the spectators. My wife and 1 year old son came to watch and they had to hide at the back of the stands out of the sun so they missed the finish. Other than that well organised, relaxed, fun atmosphere. Thanks.”
“Not at all organized. no seperate runs for under 18years.There were no sign board to reach to the place of marathon.Took for us nearly 3hrs to spot the location from Fujairah after travelling from Abu Dhabi”
“I don't know what had happened. My no. is 57 but in the result record I'm 58. I am way ahead of my friend with no. 72 but timing shows he's 10mins ahead of me. Anyway, good event. worth the trip from dubai to fujairah. Mabruk!”
“you are the best thank you so much”
“i'll rate this event minus 5 stars. no one to contact, no information no timing when where to collect numbers nothing. just a map. ”
