“Hats off to the organisers of this outstanding event. A swim in beautiful clear open water, a bike up the regions premier bicycle ascent and a picturesque but testing finishing run. This is a must repeat triathlon. But it's not for the faint-hearted as it is a sprint only in name. In reality it is a pretty tough endurance test too. Not for nothing has it been described by the very best in the Nation as 'The World's Toughest Sprint'. Add to all that an organising team who want to put everything into and take little out of our sport, and you have a really great race.”
