“Much more interesting and challenging than normal triathlons, especially the same, same ones we are having repeatedly thrown at us here in the UAE. I encourage you all to get down to one of these events and try them. The atmosphere is very relaxed and people talking part are very normal without the usual posturing etc. Dave and Rachel are trying very hard to build their events and in addition, you get to use the facilities of Wild Wadi at a discounted price afterwards!”
“The late start allows competitors to wake at a normal hour and arrive at the race not wondering what day of the week it is or question why they are there?! This is also the case for those travelling from outside Al Ain. The swim is fresh, clear and very well marked (which makes me wonder how I possibly missed a buoy, of which I received a 1min pen). T1 is also good in that it is short and all competitors have the same path to take - something which can be often difficult to achieve. The bike course is great but one must pay attention to other users of the road - being in the UAE extra caution must be taken. When joining the main road cones ensuring traffic did not enter the lane would be greatly appreciated. T2 is located in a different location, which had the benefit of providing a very clean T2 but logistically before and after is not great - but I feel worth it. The run takes you off road - which is a very pleasant change, is well marshalled and provides an aid station. It's very rare that people get things perfect first time around on a new course - but this came close. Looking forward to the next event held by the Wadi Adventure team. Thanks”
“This was only my second event and I am hooked. Organising an event like this must be very difficult and I think the guys did a fab job! Can't wait until the next one.”
“The race was not as well organized as the aquathon. The organizers were still setting up the bike racks when competitors arrived. The registration table was not set up when competitors arrived either. The cycle route was very confusing. Most importantly, THE TOP FOUR SWIMMERS DID NOT DO THE FULL COURSE AND WERE NOT PENALIZED. There were not enough race marshalls. This is not meant as negative criticism, but to help the organizers do a better job next time. The location is very good and I am glad I took part.”
“One suggestion, a better map on how to get to the start. A lot of people are not familiar with Al Ain.”
“I entered the previous event with Wadi Adventure Multi Sport Race and was a spectator in this event. My friends entered and they enjoyed it so so mcuh, I was jealous and disappointed that I hadnt registered for it! Defo for the next event! It was very well organised as an event and there were many people taking part. It was a very friendly atmosphere but also very professional and all briefs were explained to people taking part, extremely well. As a spectator I knew what the route was and it was all very clear, it was so well planned! Hats off to the group for their 2nd great organised event! Looking forward so much for their next one - Al Ain community spirit came alive this weekend! ”
“My wife and I took part and we felt that it was a tad expensive for what it was. The race shirts were not in women's sizes so we had three shirts, none of which fitted either of us. We ended up leaving them with the organisers. Race brief was poor, this was particularly confusing and would have benefited from a large diagram of the course to explain number of laps and the route. Some marshalls could have provided guidance on no of laps especially on the direction to T2. I ended up coming in too early so had to go back out for another lap on the bike :-( Nice place, and water was v good for the swim. Otherwise enjoyable day out, good atmosphere. Thanks ”
“Maybe a sports drink at the water stations on the run leg would be good. Cheers”
“Well Done. ”
“Had a super morning once again ! Thank you very much to the organisers and the staff of Wadi adventure, for another superb day. The gentleman marshalling the early u-turn for the bike leg did a great job of giving verbal instructions. It probably would have been easier for him, had there also been a big sign with "1 u-turn, 2 straight," like there was at the roundabout later in the cycle. That sign worked a treat. Otherwise everything seemed to go super smoothly. Many thanks again.”
“Friendly, relaxed, easy going and supportive. Great experience!”
“Nice to race at a new venue, well organised though the bike course was a little confusing. All in all a top effort with plenty of sports drinks etc at the end. ”
