Prague Race Director Carlo Capalbo has been elected to the prestigious Board of Directors of AIMS (The Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) at it’s Sao Paulo Congress, Brazil.

AIMS represents more than 270 distance races located in over 80 countries around the World and its objectives are:

1. to foster and promote distance running throughout the world;
2. to work with the International Association of Athletic Federations on all matters relating to international road races, and;
3. to exchange information, knowledge and expertise among the members of the Association.

After creating the Prague Marathon in 1993, Carlo Capalbo founded the Prague Half Marathon (1998) and the Tesco 10km Grand Prix - all of which are AIMS members. He holds a Law degree and MBA. In 1999 he founded "Tempo Team Sports Marketing" and has driven this company for the past 10 years with great commercial success. After a close relationship with AIMS for many years, he has gained election to the AIMS Board for the first time.

World President of AIMS Hiroaki Chosa commented: "We are delighted to welcome Carlo and the valuable expertise and experience he brings to the AIMS Board."
