World's fastest marathon runner Haile Gebrselassie, can now be followed on Twitter (http://twitter.com/HaileGebr). Gebrselassie will keep his followers updated on his preparations for the Berlin Marathon. In this marathon which takes place on September the 20th, he will try to break his current world record of 2:03.59.
Gebrselassie is posting messages about his practices, his business activities and his personal life experiences on Twitter. The fast Ethiopian is currently in his home town Addis Abeba training for the marathon in Berlin. His experiences not only describe the number of miles he is running, but give the follower an idea how it is to train in an African country.
Besides his running experiences, people can follow Gebrselassie's activities in his business. He is leading several companies every day, devoted to some charity projects, and building a new hotel in Awasa. The progress of the building and the daily worries that come with leading a business can also be found on his Twitter.
The preparations for the Berlin Marathon are however, the most important to Gebrselassie. The Ethiopian has good memories about the fast course in the German capital. In 2007 he broke the world record for the first time by finishing in 2:04.26. In 2008 he shaved off another 27 seconds in the same city. In 2009 he is getting a chance to break the world record in the marathon for the third time in a row.
